Music - Busking
Travelling around town to town and not taking advantage of any government aid busking and the generosity of people who actually want to help and appreciate the music is how I've been funding my life. Not earning a lot doing this I've learned to not spend a lot but a bit extra would be nice hence this Website and Blog. I've written a lot of my own songs and play a lot of different instruments, my favorites are the harmonica and ukulele. I can also play all types of drums, the piano, guitar, digeridoo, singing bowls. If I can't play it it doesn't take me long to learn basically. How is this possible you might say?!

I learned to play music through jamming with others, listening to what sounds good and what works in the moment with the right now moment, energy and vibration
The short version of my story, which I may go into in more detail on another blog post is that while going through a divorce with my ex wife she went next level evil (and I really don't say that lightly) to stop me seeing my children. They were 3 and 4 at the time and I had just bought a van to live in and take them away in for the weekends which was now being used as another reason to deny me access after already working through 3 court orders that were being completely ignored. I ended up having a complete meltdown while based in a small Welsh town called Llandeilo.
Not far from Llandeilo was a small alternative community called TP Valley. I had recently met a lady at an Osho Leela event who what living in Llandeilo and was involved in a relationship with her. She introduced me to the valley and a guy called Jim who used to put on what he called Jim Jams. This guy was a trooper, he put on these jams every Saturday night in an idealistic shed in the middle of the valley in a shed powered by a generator. I had learned how to use weed, mushrooms and LSD as part of a way to heal yourself in a previous relationship and that's what I did. When you combine that with paying music all night in a shed full of every instrument ready to go and ready to learn on the results are pretty amazing and you get good QUICKLY!
The jams used to go on all night and they were amazing and filled with amazing musicians every time. Awkward, annoying, alternative people but amazing musicians. I only ever learned a few cords just so I could stay in relative tune with them and the rest of my learning came from what sounded good in the moment and where the energy of the room was going at the time. During this time I ended up having to let go of the van as it was a big expense and too big for one person (after I decided to move on from fighting my ex wife for the kids all the time and concentrate on myself and my mental health). This obviously caused a lot of trauma and the lady who I was still friends with but not really involved intimately with anymore said I could stay in her she while I sorted myself out. It was a lovely shed at the back of her garden under an apple tree and I fell in love with it and got so much healing looking back.
During this 18 month period which was a lot longer than she bargained for mainly kept myself to myself as I was very angry about everything that had happened to me and what was happening in the world around COVID etc. I spend most of my time healing myself with mushrooms and weed and learning about vibration, body language, music and connection mainly from watching people and not really engaging. I spent most of my time at the local deer park called Dinefwr Park. I used to buy honey from the local shop which was produced at the deer park and mix it with mushrooms that grew in the park and then spend all day tripping, learning, writing music, singing and learning about nature. Then I would go into co-op with all the order follower mask wearers and freak out!
This in itself wasn't enough to cope with all the anger going through me so I started playing tennis and played almost all day every day. I would bash a ball up against a wall for hours and practice my server for hours also. Walk around loads and then research on YouTube how to improve when back at the shed. I actually got pretty good as time went on. I was also getting better and better on the Ukulele, writing lots of anti government angry songs and learning how to sing. I didn't start any of this until my 40s and nobody can believe or understand how someone can improve at so many things so quickly. The short answer is when you're letting everything go and not focusing on work 8 hours a day and focusing on things you enjoy and help you to feel good you can't even really explain the speed at which you learn.
Eventually the lady's shed I was staying in booted me out and made me homeless. I didn't really blame her, not even at the time although she did lie about the reason which annoyed me a little. However I ended up homeless on the streets and learning to busk with the new skills I had to keep my trilogy alive which is basically coffee, weed and snacks. Everything is fine as long as I have the trilogy complete :) It's a very long story which may come up in other blog posts where appropriate but for this post I think this is everything that needs to be mentioned for now.
In an ideal world I would own a banjolele which has a drum I can also bang on, a harmonica with an attachment around the neck which means I can play on that too and would have a few gigs at alternative pubs or similar places to give me a bit more of an income. It hasn't happened yet but if you would like to get in touch and find out where I am currently busking to have a listen or even arrange a visit for me to play some music then you can do so by emailing me directly above or by using the form below.
